Star Wars films and video games are up to 50 percent off today

It’s May 4th, which means that there are plenty of Star Wars-themed deals out there today. We’ve settled on covering just a few discounts on acclaimed video games and movies, though, of course, there’s also some merchandise you can score if you’re in the mood. My colleague Kim Lyons wrote about Disney’s new four-pack of Star Wars face masks that are available for preorder. While somewhat costly to preorder at $20, they ensure that you’re covered up during the pandemic while repping the beloved franchise right on your face.

You can get a great deal on a nine-film Star Wars collection from Vudu and the Google Play Store. Instead of paying a total of $100 for all nine films in 4K, the bundle costs $80 (equaling out to around $8.90 per film). The collection, called “The Skywalker Saga” contains the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy from the early aughts, and the most recent trilogy ending with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

I highlighted a deal last week on the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, but it bears repeating today for a few reasons. First, it’s May 4th (Star Wars Day). Secondly, it’s a good game. Lastly, now the console versions are seeing a big price drop as well. You can still pick up the digital PC version for $30 at Amazon, and now Best Buy has the PS4, Xbox One, and PC physical versions for $35.

If an action-packed third-person adventure where you play as a budding Jedi who slowly discovers new powers sounds fun to you, this game is worth playing. It has a strong narrative and good voice acting, and unlocking new combat abilities is fun and challenging.

The original Google Home speaker is down to $29 today at the Google Store. The previous best price was $49 (originally $99), so this is a huge discount. Other retailers, like Best Buy, Target, and Walmart are honoring this price, but their stock seems to be depleting quickly. Deals aggregator Slickdeals says that Kohl’s and Lowe’s still have the speaker in stock. For this price, you’ll get better sound performance than what the newer Nest Mini can put out.

I had to include another deal that has nothing do with Star Wars, and it’s on the Apple Watch Series 5. Best Buy was the only retailer last week to knock $100 off the costs of the 40mm and 44mm models. In case you missed out on it, that deal is still happening, and Target is honoring it now as well.
