The incredibly basic left-to-right spangram didn’t change things much, but spotting ENAMEL, and then quickly afterwards PASTEL, did — and from here it was a case of finding different types of painting mediums.
All was going well until the brakes went on with the final word. I had never heard of TEMPERA (tempura, yes) and it took a few abortive attempts before I finally made the word (for the record, tempera is a permanent, fast-drying, water-based painting medium historically created by mixing pigments with a binder, typically egg yolk).
Yesterday’s NYT Strands answers (Wednesday, April 8, game #766)
- BLANKET
- QUILT
- AFGHAN
