In our experience, for the best value, you should choose the NordVPN Plus plan. Not only is it available in every NordVPN region, but it gives you access to all the key NordVPN tools, including Threat Protection Pro, NordPass, and Meshnet, without leaving you overpaying for NordVPN’s most premium features. A NordVPN Plus plan is only $3.89/month right now, but remember, VPN’s ask for payment upfront, so in reality, that’s $105.03 for 27 months of coverage.
You still get NordVPN’s top performance with streaming services, your connection uses all of NordVPN’s top security infrastructure, and you get the lightning-quick speeds we saw throughout our testing. The key features you don’t get, 1TB of encrypted cloud storage, and various types of cyber insurance.
While NordVPN’s various insurance types can provide additional reassurance, and encrypted cloud storage can be super helpful, it quickly begins to cause the price to skyrocket.
A Plus plan is normally around $80 cheaper upfront than NordVPN’s most premium US plan, Prime, which adds the various insurance options alongside 1TB of encrypted cloud storage. This gap only increases after auto-renewals, too. If the encrypted cloud storage is tempting you, though, a Complete plan is normally only $30 or so more than a Plus plan upfront.
It’s also worth knowing that, unlike almost any VPN out there, NordVPN adds tax to your total cost on top of the advertised price. Only Surfshark, the other VPN owned by Nord Security, operates a similar model. This means that not only will your price be higher than what’s advertised, no matter what, it’ll vary slightly depending on where in the world you are.
