Hurry! The Dyson V8 for just AU$339 is a Prime Day deal that will sell out quick
The second Prime Day sale of the year is inching towards its final days (it ends at 11:59pm AEDT on Monday, October 13) and I’ve only just seen that the Dyson V8 has gotten a Prime-exclusive discount that slashes 58% off the list price.
This isn’t the lowest price I’ve seen on this cordless vacuum – that was AU$319.99 a couple of months ago – but this isn’t too far off. It’s a discount worth considering even though it’s now been succeeded by an upgraded Dyson V8 Cyclone that retails for AU$649.
Every time it’s been discounted, I’ve seen it sell like hot cakes. This time last year, it was AU$399 and it rose to become the #6 bestseller in Amazon‘s Homes category. During the same sale last year, our own data showed that over a dozen of our readers purchased the V8 when we wrote about that AU$399 offer. It was out of stock soon after.
So if you need a new vacuum cleaner and you’re keen on a Dyson, this entry-level model ain’t bad at all for AU$339, especially since the ever-popular Shark IZ102 is out of stock on Amazon at the time of writing, and the AU$199 Dreame U20 offer is also no longer available.
As already mentioned, the Dyson V8 is currently the British brand’s base cordless vacuum cleaner model. While it’s not the exact original version that launched way back 2016 – Dyson has made some tweaks – the specs are pretty much the same.
You’ll only get a maximum of 40 minutes of runtime with non-motorised attachments (like the crevice tool and the dusting brush), and a little less when using the Motorbar cleaning head. Still, that’s usually enough to vacuum the floors of the average one-bedroom Aussie home.
Having the Hair Screw Tool means it’s going to be a lot easier to suck up hair and fur without tangles, and it’s handy to use on beds (even pet beds), sofas and rugs. You can, in theory, use on the floor, but its got a small footprint, so you’ll end up spending more time cleaning – best to stick with the Digital Motorbar on your floors.
There’s ample suction power here (115 air watts) generated by the 110,000rpm motor inside the V8. Sure, it’s not as powerful as the newer Dyson cordless vacuums (the Gen5detect, for example, has 262AW of power, while the V16 Piston takes it up to 315AW), but for the usual vacuuming jobs, that’s plenty.
In my 4-star Dyson V8 review, I called it out for its affordability, versatile design and impressive suction for an older model. If this Prime Day deal looks appealing to you, get it quick or you might miss out.
