Disney+ is giving its apps a visual revamp, for easier navigation and more personalization – here’s what’s new
- Disney+ has announced an app interface revamp
- The look of the app is becoming more dynamic
- You should also start to see improved recommendations
When you’re one of the best streaming services around, you need to keep improving, and Disney+ has announced a revamped look for its apps across all devices that refreshes and personalizes the layout, and makes navigation a little easier.
The changes are going to “enhance your streaming experience”, Disney promises, and are led by an updated navigation bar up at the top: You’ll see a new For You tab, which is where you’ll find a bunch of recommendations for what to stream next.
You then get a separate tab for each of your subscriptions (depending on what you’re subscribed to): Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN. Finally there’s a lightning bolt symbol which is where you can find all the live content currently available.
What’s more, profiles are being made more prominent on the homepage, so it’s easier to switch between profiles for different members of the family, and more obvious whose profile you’re using at any particular time.
Better recommendations over time

Disney says that the new screens in its apps are also “more personalized and dynamic”: the recommendations you see improve over time, so the more Disney+ viewing you do, the more relevant the shortcuts on the For You tab should get.
There’s a new video carousel at the top of the app screen, that “puts our characters and stories front and center” according to the official announcement. In other words, you start seeing previews of content even while you’re just browsing.
The brand rows have been tweaked for a fresher look, and now include more titles – across FX and ESPN Originals – for example, while content rows include more cinematic poster-style artwork and new badges to highlight new content and season finales.

All in all it looks like a pretty comprehensive update, although one that is apparently limited to users in the US for the time being. Disney says that “more changes are on the horizon” too, “leading up to a unified app experience in 2026”.
