Looks like Star Wars is once again heading to Fortnite. Epic Games has teased the arrival of Chewbacca, alongside a new update. It’ll arrive on May 3, 2024.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is now well on its way, giving players a Greek God-themed map to battle across. There’s a whole new Battle Pass to work through, featuring skins based on Gods like Zeus, Hades and Artemis.
With Fortnite’s new season only being a week old at this point, it’ll be a while before we all start looking ahead at what’s next. Thankfully, the battle royale title always lists when the current season is going to end, so while downtime will vary, we do know how long we have to work away at the new Battle Pass.

When does the current season of Fortnite end?
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 still has a little juice left in it, but thanks to the in-game Battle Pass, we can see that it’ll end on May 24 at 2AM ET / 11PM PT / 6PM GMT.
It’s worth noting that last season’s timings shifted by a couple of days just before the new one was supposed to arrive, so timings here are subject to change. The best place to keep up on specific updates closer to the launch of the new season is the Fortnite Status Twitter account. We’ll be sure to keep this page up to date as well.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 release date
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 will launch on May 24, 2024. The thing to remember about new Fortnite seasons and chapters is that there is always a period of downtime after one ends. This down time makes the next season’s exact start time a little tricky to predict as it can range from a couple of hours – as was the case last season – to multiple days, which has happened between chapters before.
What to expect from the next Fortnite season
In terms of what to expect moving forward, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 has yet to be detailed in any way. This is expected, given how early into the current season we are. Still, as new details start to trickle out in the coming weeks, we’ll be sure to keep this page updated. We’re hoping to see the heavily rumored first-person mode, but nothing’s been confirmed yet.
