Loki will reportedly appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Three variants of the Loki character, with the central one portrayed by Tom Hiddleston.

Spoilers for the ending of Loki follow.
Following Loki episode 6’s ending, Marvel revealed that the show would be returning for a season 2 – as had been widely speculated before release. If you’re hoping to see the god of mischief a little sooner than that, though, good news: a report suggest Loki could also appear in the upcoming movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The rumor comes from well-connected outlet The Hollywood Reporter, which claims that Tom Hiddleston will appear in the Doctor Strange sequel. This is the first we’ve heard of Hiddleston being attached to the project, but it certainly makes a lot of sense for where we leave his character in the series.
Given that the events of the Loki season 1 finale have officially established an MCU multiverse, Hiddleston appearing in a film called ‘Multiverse of Madness’ certainly seems appropriate.
Hiddleston will next appear in Marvel’s animated series What if…?. The anthology series is set to show us what could have happened if key MCU events had played out differently, like Peggy Carter getting the Captain America serum or Prince T’Challa being kidnapped by Yondu instead of Peter Quill.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, directed by Sam Raimi and starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen, will release on March 23, 2022.
What did you expect?
Assuming the report is true, this will undoubtedly make fans of Loki happy. After his death at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, it seemed like the character’s future wasn’t necessarily going to be in MCU movies, with his story instead confined to his own series – which seemed to exist on the fringes of Marvel continuity, until its finale this week.
We can’t do more than theorize what this news could mean for the already jam-packed plot of the Doctor Strange sequel, but if you haven’t been paying attention to the Disney Plus shows, you definitely need to be. It has been confirmed that Doctor Strange 2 will also tackle the fallout of the WandaVision series, and Wanda’s acquisition of the Darkhold in the series finale.
It’ll probably take some time for Disney to officially confirm if Loki will in fact appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but if we learn anything, we’ll be sure to keep you in the know.
