With the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon, it’s no surprise that football fans across the globe are looking back on their national team’s greatest moments. For England fans, that moment is the 1966 World Cup Final at Wembley Stadium, which netted the team its only World Cup trophy with a 4-2 win against West Germany.
To celebrate the upcoming tournament, Channel 4 is set to broadcast a colourised version of the iconic match at 4:45pm on Saturday 6 June. The match will be introduced by comedian David Badiel, with commentary from current and former England icons.
As Televisual reports, viewers can expect appearances from Sir Geoff Hurst, who scored three of the four goals that won England the trophy 60 years ago, as well as current England captain Harry Kane.
