The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is inspired by my favorite Hasselblad camera — and I think it’s the most beautiful phone of 2026 so far
- Oppo has teased a first look of its latest flagship phone, the Find X9 Ultra
- Its design is directly inspired by the Hasselblad X2D
- Headline features include twin 200MP cameras and a 10x zoom
I’ve already had extended hands-on time with the Oppo Find X9 Ultra ahead of its full reveal on April 21 — be sure to look out for my in-depth take on its camera skills then — but in the build-up to the launch, I’m permitted to share a first look at the flagship camera phone, and I think it’s a stunner.
I’m biased, though; the Find X9 Ultra’s design is directly inspired by Oppo’s long-term partnership with Hasselblad, and specifically one of my favorite cameras ever, the incredible Hasselblad X2D 100C II (a pro 100MP medium-format model that tops my camera wishlist).
This is no generic slab of a phone like most other models, but one with a classic leather finish and a sharp metal trim that catches in the light, complete with orange accents. It really feels like a baby Hasselblad, and it’s no slouch in the camera department either.

With a focus on camera performance, there’s no getting around the beastly camera module, which is perhaps the only design drawback. The upshots, however, are four lenses spanning 14-230mm focal lengths. Here’s what Oppo has revealed so far.

The camera phone of all camera phones?
I tried the Oppo Find X8 Ultra last year and felt it had the better of the latest iPhone Pro Max and Galaxy Ultra rivals for camera performance – if only the China-only model were available globally.
Its successor is no mere refresh, based on the limited info we can reveal so far, so you might expect it to pull even further away from other camera phone flagships as one of the best camera phones.
Oppo has shared a video on its YouTube (see below) which opens with a flash of said Hasselblad camera, and then reveals the Find X9 Ultra’s ‘Hasselblad Master Camera System’, which will feature a Galaxy S23 Ultra-beating 50MP 10x optical zoom telephoto and twin 200MP cameras.

The teaser confirms that the camera array spans 14-230mm focal lengths, with a maximum f/1.5-3.5 aperture.
There will also be an ‘Earth Explorer’ kit — inspired by a limited-edition version of the Hasselblad X2D II — and an optional 400mm telephoto lens accessory, which will go beyond the reach of the phone’s 10x optical zoom.
We also get a peek at the Find X9 Ultra in another colorway, orange, followed by the teaser’s finishing slogan ‘Your next camera’.
The teaser certainly whets the appetite for camera fans, and I’m looking forward to sharing more with you for the phone’s full reveal in a little over a week’s time — if you’re into camera phone tech, the Find X9 Ultra will be well worth a look.
