I’m a big MacBook Pro fan, and you should get one for yourself at this record-low price
This might sound like hyperbole, but I don’t think I could live without my Apple MacBook Pro. I own the 2023 M2 Pro model, and its performance is as good as it was when I bought it new. Not bad considering I’ve used it every day for two years now.
This level of quality attracts a premium price, which is why I’m pleased to see that you can now snap up the newest Apple MacBook Pro (M5) from Best Buy for $1349 (was $1,599). The $250 discount brings it down to a record-low price.
I wouldn’t necessarily recommend buying it if you already own an M3 or M4 version, but if you have an older MacBook Pro or are looking for a seriously premium laptop, then this is the deal you’ve been waiting for.
Today’s best Apple MacBook Pro deal
In our Apple MacBook Pro (M5) review, we gave Apple’s latest pro-level laptop a solid four out of five stars. In reality, it’s a fairly small update over last year’s M4 model, although it does include a wide range of improvements focused on AI performance. AI software features are supercharged by a new, more powerful GPU with a neural accelerator built into each core.
Our Managing Editor of Core Tech, Matt Hanson, describes it as “a superb workstation laptop with a stunning screen, thin and light design, and excellent build quality.” He was particularly impressed by the battery life, which “continues to be among the best of any laptop, with almost 24 hours of constant video looping and over 18 hours in our web browsing benchmark.”
The MacBook Pro M5 hasn’t yet made it into our best laptops, but surely that’s only a matter of time. If you’re open to other operating systems and laptop manufacturers, then we recommend checking out our guide to the best Windows laptops as well as our page housing all the best laptop deals.
