What are the release dates of Murdaugh: Death in the Family episodes on Hulu and Disney+?
Murdaugh: Death in the Family is a shocking story inspired by real-life events. It’s the story of high-powered attorney Alex Murdaugh, who seems to be living a charmed life – but then his son is involved in a deadly boat crash that sets off a chain of more terrible events.
The show is based on the hit podcast, Murdaugh Murders, and it’s a lightly fictionalized version with a stellar cast in a tale of privilege, power and consequences.
The Guardian described the show as “a psychoanalysis of a family where every relationship has been poisoned by the cruelty of the patriarch and further corroded by power and money” and praised the “trio of strong performances”: Jason Clarke as Alex Murdaugh, Johnny Berchtold as his son Paul, and Patricia Arquette as Alex’s wife Maggie.
According to Screen Rant, Hulu has delivered “its best true crime adaptation in years.” It “handles its troubling true crime source material with an investigative yet suspenseful lens, bringing more to the table than another needless or insensitive dramatization of ‘based on real events’ murder and mystery.” In particular, it is “elevated by outstanding performances and relevant themes”.
